It Abstract. This paper deals with two main points. Firstly, a new type of ReactionDiffusion Fuzzy Cellular Network, suitable to describe complex phenomena is defined. The second part of the work is devoted to investigate on the role played by diversity in this type of networks. In particular, the regularizing role of non organized spatial perturbation introduced in the membership functions of the proposed architecture is analyzed. 1 Introduction In this paper, after having introduced some main concepts regarding the role of Reaction-Diffusion (RD) equations [1], and having discussed the possibility of implementing them by using the RD-CNN paradigm, a new type of RD Fuzzy Cellular Network is presented.

Connections between FL, GAs, Cellular Neural Networks CNNs, and chaos theory are younger and more and more studied. In [6] a new distributed system, based on identical cells with a fuzzy core, have been introduced and successfully applied for complex phenomena modeling; in [4] CNNs have been used to generate programmable chaotic signals with application secure transmission, in [3] optimization capabilities given by GAs have been used to determine the parameters of a chaotic circuit starting from acquired data, and finally in [5] GAs have been used to automatically design CNNs template in image processing application avoiding a standard time expensive trail and error procedure.
