Using Team Sites, Document Workspaces, and Group Work Sites Team sites, document workspaces, and group work sites are very similar in form and function. These site types are all designed to allow groups of people to work together. Team sites, as shown in Figure 2-1, provide project-centric work spaces where people can work together on either short-term projects or long-standing, ongoing initiatives. Because of their structures and included functionality, team sites are the most general-purpose sites available in SharePoint and can be used to meet a variety of information management and collaboration needs.
