My sisters are married. One lives in Mwonbuy, border of Iringa and Morogoro; she’s 52. The other is 56 and lives in area near Ntella. They both do agriculture and for a long time they have never come home to see anyone. One already has a grandchild. My mom is too old, she lives in Mdumbaw. She lives with her husband. She still works; sometimes even goes to the farm and does agriculture. My daddy can’t work now, he has problems of asthma. He just stays at home. My dad depends on my mom. My mom has hypertension and has been told there is a hole in her heart for almost 20 years now.

I went to social welfare for help. They provided food, medication. No breastmilk for the baby so they gave me milk for the baby. I was so sick I couldn’t breastfeed. My mom took care of the baby while I was sick. He never sees the kids, no communication at all. I never want to get married again. I think it’s a psychological problem because my first husband abandoned me. I used to take in orphans and children with disability when I was married. Even after he left I helped them. They come to my house even if I can’t help them, feed them; they just want to see me.
