Die HeiBdampflokomotive wurde zu Beginn unseres Jahrhunderts von GARBE (PreuBische Staatsbahn) eingefiihrt, dem bald darauf NOLTEIN (Moskau-Kasaner Bahn) und FLAMME (Belgische Staatsbahn) folgten. Der eigentliche Schopfer der HeiBdampflokomotive ist aber WILHELM SCHMIDT, der nach· den vorlaufigen Formen des Flammrohr- und Rauchkammeriiberhitzers im Rauchrohriiberhitzer die heute noch allgemein gebrauchliche Bauart geschaffen hat.
