Such glasses may be used in radiation chambers and it is important therefore, that their colour is unchanged by irradiation. 4 THE INFLUENCE OF GLASS THICKNESS ON LIGHT TRANSMITTANCE The transmittance of light through a glass decreases logarithmically with increased glass thickness.
Its chemical resistance towards the attack of most other acids is very good, but alkaline solutions, on the other hand, attack glass quite severely.
