In this form, the feeling can be analyzed and the transference resolved. Love that is biologically fulfilled is not illusory. It has substance that derives from the physical satisfactions that the relationship offers. It has depth, since it has been tested in reality and reinforced by pleasure. It is broad, since the good feelings that surround it extend to the whole world. To talk of love in the abstract is like discussing food with a hungry man. It is a valid idea, but it is powerless to change his physical condition.
