Diversification of rural space In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, the European Community began to revise the representation of ruralism and the revisions appeared to appropriate the changes the CAP had wrought on rural locations: regional diversification of rural space, intensified production and agricultural diversification.

Price-support mechanism: intensification of production The second type of measures adopted by the CAP to address the farm income problem and the concomitant rural problem and to preserve the localities where farming and rural society could flourish were market-intervention schemes.
